Painting
When you work in sculpture there is a bit of down time. You need to wait for materials to set, dry, cool, or just figure out how it will physically hold up.
Painting is the place where I go in these times.
It is my quiet place even though I am very passionate and expressive in my painting.
I do work in series with painting as I do with sculpture, but I let the paintings flow from one subject to another more than with sculpture. Probably because the medium lends itself to this adventurous path.
Many of my paintings are inspired by my sculptures, when the image of the sculpture is in the canvas a figure my find itself leaning on the image of the sculpture or a horse meandering through.
The way I see it the whole art experience is a ride. You must smell the roses and enjoy it. Let it carry you in it's path.
